SJOHNNA MCCRAY is the author of Rapture (2016), winner of the 2015 Walt Whitman Award of the Academy of American Poets. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and educated at Ohio University. He received his MFA from the University of Virginia where he was a Hoyns Fellow. He has a master’s degree in English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. McCray was the winner of the AWP Intro Journal Award and Ohio University’s Emerson Poetry Prize. His work has appeared in numerous journals including the Southern Review, Chicago Quarterly Review, and Shenandoah. He lives and teaches in Savannah, Georgia.
